Home-made 3He-4He dilution refrigerator (Fig. 1) with a cooling power of 20 μW, minimum temperature of 28 mK and maximum experimental space of 35 mm.
Two Oxford Instruments 10 T cryomagnetic systems (Fig. 1) with 4He-flow cryostats down to 1.5 K.
Microcalorimeter for the heat capacity measurements by relaxation method in the temperature range 0.03-3 K (Fig. 2). Available is also a sample holder for electrical resistance and
Hall effect measurements in dilution refrigerator or 4He cryostat.
Two high pressure cells: a piston cell up to 3 GPa with a workspace of 4 mm from EasyLab, a home-made diamond anvil cell (DAC) up to 12 GPa with a workspace of 0.5 mm (Fig. 3).
For the preparation of electrical resistance measurements under pressure following equipment is used:
- home-made argon liquefier (Ar serves as pressure medium in DAC),
- home-made pressure applicator for DAC,
- optical microscopes with micromanipulators (Narishige, Japan),
- microwelding machine (SunStone Engineering, USA),
- fluorescence ruby spectrometer (EasyLab, UK) for pressure detection in DAC.
The laboratory is also equipped with the method of Point Contact Spectroscopy.
The laboratory is focused on experimental investigations of thermal, magnetic and transport properties of strongly correlated electron systems and other materials (single crystals,
polycrystals, thin films) in the temperature range 30 mK - 300 K, in magnetic field up to 10 T and at high pressures up to 12 GPa.
